November 2009

Before the holidays are upon us, I'm sending this along
to tell you what's been happening at SNDI.

FrogsAreGreen.com
Since the launch of this blog in May 2009, we have written about the decline of Frogs and how they are an indicator of the problems with our planet. The response has been wonderful, and now we want to tell you about some new features on the blog.

You must see the winning photograph from our first Frog photo contest!

We started a new gallery of children's artwork. The first gallery came from a school in WA. The student artists are in grade levels K-3. If you know any teachers who might want to create a frog drawing/painting lesson, please pass our blog along, we would love to see more children involved! There's a flyer available for download.

We also have a new gallery of backyard habitats, this was in response to a post discussing what to do and not do, as the Fall season approached.

We've added some new t-shirt designs, and soon we'll feature a "Frogs in the Rainforest" poster as well as other products, so check back.

We have a Facebook cause page to make it easy for people to show they care. Please visit our blog, check out the galleries, and feel free to comment at: FrogsAreGreen.com

Africa As One
Recently, I was engaged by Africa As One to create an assortment of print and web marketing, including a gala event logo, signage, invitation, brochure and web pages. The event is to be held in November 2009.

My logo concept represents the varied peoples coming together as one, to combine resources and create positive change across the continent of Africa.

Blades & Goven
We have finished the database-driven website for this landscape architecture company based in Connecticut. From single-family residences and helping develop communities, to high schools and universities, the galleries will amaze.

This site is built using Concrete5 for the administration and works beautifully, check it out!

100 Bloggers, 100 Green Books, 100 Reviews, 1 Day
This past Tuesday, November 10th, there was a wonderful "green" campaign event. 100 bloggers, 100 green books, 100 reviews, 1 day. Participating as a blogger in this event, I also designed the logo for the company that organized the campaign, Eco-Libris. All the participating bloggers were free to use it in their reviews. 100+ bloggers all published their reviews at exactly 1pm est.

This campaign was aimed at promoting "green" books by reviewing books printed on recycled paper or FSC-certified paper. Many of the books were on "eco-friendly" topics as well.

If you follow the above link, you can see the list of books, bloggers, and can read the reviews at each blog. You can also learn more about what Eco-Libris is doing.

WedNet
Over the past few months I have been designing a new look and feel for WedNet.com, a community website for brides and grooms.

Working with the developers, I have designed 10 different pages for them so the pages/styles can be implemented into the new site. Launch of the new site is coming soon, in the meanwhile, have a look at the page designs.

Phoenix Theatre Ensemble
I have adapted the design for Phoenix Theatre Ensemble's version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, that I created for Hudson Theatre Ensemble. The show opens Saturday, December 5, in New York City.

For more information visit the website.

Each year I create the graphics for the Teaneck International Film Festival.

This year's event takes place November 20-22, so be sure to check out the website and get your tickets!

Opening night kicks off November 20, with "When the Evening Comes," a new film starring Philip Bosco and Anne Meara.

This past November 6th through the 8th, Actor's Shakespeare Company at NJCU had a Free event of The Play's The Thing with a reading of Madness in Valencia by Lope de Vega.

Please visit the ASC website for upcoming shows.

Also in the works.... various websites, book projects,
email newsletters, and assorted print marketing assignments.

Check out what's new on the website!
- Warmest regards, Susan
