Get Out There, Connecting With Others, Both Online and Offline!

So many creatives, solopreneurs and small business owners are afraid to step into the role as the face of their company… so they stay behind the computer, behind the camera, or behind their products and services.

I know… because I was like this for many years. I thought, they can see the portfolios of work on my websites and if they’re interested, they will contact me.

But then I thought about the clients who have been with me year after year, coming back to do new projects. I thought about why they come back, and it made me realize that my company wasn’t just about the work, it was about who was doing the work. They wanted to work with my brand visibility studio because we had built up that essential trust factor.

They trusted that I would guide them on the right path, and they trusted that I would do right by them, making them look professional to their own clients.

Once I made this realization, I knew it was time to step out of my comfort zone and show the world what I was all about. I started by blogging, then interviewing others about their successful brands.

I’d go to gallery openings and events, take photographs, videos and blog about them as well as post the galleries. A friend and I founded Frogs Are Green and we’ve been blogging and bring our awareness organization into the spotlight. We’ve been featured on the Discovery website, Green Marketing TV, The Examiner Newark, as well as on internet radio like the Techno Granny Show.

I started creating video tutorials and they started getting picked up elsewhere. One of my videos was on Mashable, teaching others how to brand their YouTube channel so it matched their company branding.

I also stepped right in front of the camera and started making short video tips so others could meet the real me. I’m still working on this, as it’s not easy to talk to a camera. But I’m getting better at it. And it does help to have a great videographer, someone who works with you, knows how to frame you, and can edit the video into something others will see is professionally done, and will learn from.

After appearing on some internet radio shows, this led to the launch of Broadcast Louder, a webinar series for entrepreneurs and small business owners and my new radio show, Suzy Brandtastic.

My version of Broadcasting Louder is to spread my wings and soar as far and as high as I can, reaching, sharing and helping as many people as possible.

My favorite quote is by Mahatma Ghandi:
"Be the change you want to see in the world
."
