Eco-Libris - 41 Reasons to Plant a Tree for Your Book
This year they are celebrating the 41st Earth Day with a special campaign. 41 Reasons to Plant a Tree for Your Book. They want to hear what readers think about it, so for 41 days, beginning on March 13th, 2011 and continuing through April 22 (Earth Day), they'll publish on their blog 41 of the best replies they get, one reply each day. So join in and participate!

Frogs Are Green:
Over at my cause, Frogs Are Green, we've launched a new green campaign with the theme, "It is easy being green." We're calling all kids!... to illustrate what that sentence means to them through drawing, painting, collage, sculpture or however they'd like to express themselves. Digital files no larger than 3MB should be emailed to info@frogsaregreen.com Deadline is November 30, 2010. Read more>>

To help us launch the campaign we are thrilled to collaborate with world renowned artist, Paul Zwolak. Paul is represented in the United States by the Marlena Agency. He has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts and American Illustration, among others. In 2008 Paul’s work was selected by the United States Postal Service for their Love Series. His commemorative stamp, Love: All Heart, was released on June 20, 2008. People For Bikes (.org)
An organization uniting bicycle enthusiasts all over. Since May is National Bike Month and this week is Bike To Work week, I wanted to share this link so more people can join and see their cause. "Peopleforbikes.org is dedicated to channeling that passion to improve the future of bicycling. Our goal is to gather a million names of support, to speak with one, powerful voice—to make bicycling safer, more convenient and appealing for everyone."

Eco-Libris
A new campaign is rewarding green readers with green gifts - Raz Godelnik, Eco-Libris
With all the current hype around the iPad it's still important to remember that over 95% of all books sold are printed on paper and hence the ever-growing importance of making physical books more sustainable. For over two years Eco-Libris has been offering eco-conscious readers the opportunity to balance out their books by planting trees. At the same time we have worked to promote sustainable reading and reduce the impact of books on the environment.

Now Eco-Libris is combining the two, with a special giveaway that reward customers with green gifts that promote green reading, from gift cards for Strand Book Store and BookSwim to free “green” books that were printed on recycled or FSC-certified paper.

Eco-Libris:

New campaign for the 41st Earth Day from Eco Libris. Join in as they ask us to answer what are the 41 best reasons to plant a tree for your book.

Eco-Libris has come back to me to design this year's logo for their green books campaign. This year the campaign brings together 200 bloggers to review a variety of green books all at the same time. I'll also be one of the bloggers. Click here to learn more about joining this year's event as a blogger.

City of Hoboken

Working with Ian Sacs, the director of the Department of Transportation, I have designed two new logos. One is for the crosstown bus system, which will be called "The Hop." Designing the branding with a friendly look and feel, we're confident more people will "hop" on the bus and leave their cars behind.

The city also has some new hybrid cars, so we've developed a logo for the Hoboken Parking Utility. This logo will go on the vehicles so residents can see the city is going "green."

Eco-Libris
This past November 10th, was a wonderful "green" campaign event. 100 bloggers, 100 green books, 100 reviews, 1 day. Participating as a blogger in this event, and designing this logo for the company that organized the campaign, Eco-Libris and all the bloggers to use, has been so rewarding.

100+ bloggers published their reviews at 1pm est. This campaign is aiming to promote "green" books by reviewing books printed on recycled paper or FSC-certified paper. Many of the books are on "eco-friendly" topics as well.

If you follow the above link, you can see all the bloggers, books and read the reviews at each blog.

Bike JC
I have joined the group Bike JC (that's Jersey City for those not in the area) so that I can help the others in the group to build a bike-friendly city. My first design assignment was this sticker to the left. I look forward to helping them at the events coming up in 2010.

Green Party NYC
I just designed a postcard for the Green Party NYC which will be handed out at an upcoming convention.

Below are some of the new posters:

Frogs Are Green
We've just launched an EARTH DAY 2010 contest. We've designed a bunch of posters and t-shirts and the winner will receive one of whichever they choose. Our posters are printed on FSC-Certified paper and our t-shirts are printed in the USA on 100% cotton. To read more about the details of our contest, visit Frogs Are Green.

One of our recent collaborations is with illustrator, Sherry Neidigh. We've printed up the t-shirts on a lovely natural color and the posters are 18" x 24." They're both available at the store on the blog.

Some of our recent posts:

Yasuni National Park, Ecuador: An Amphibian Eden
A Field of Nightmares? Atrazine, Corn and Frogs
Pet Frogs Associated with Recent Salmonella Outbreak

We started a new gallery of children's artwork. The first gallery came from a school in Washington state. The student artists are in grade levels K-3. If you know any teachers who might want to create a frog drawing/painting lesson, please pass our blog along. We would love to see more children involved! There's a flyer available for download.

We have a Facebook cause page to make it easy for people to show they care. Please visit our blog, check out the galleries, and feel free to comment at: FrogsAreGreen.com

A blog to raise awareness of the frog extinction crisis and how you can help the threat to amphibians...we show how healthy frogs mean a heathy planet for all. Check it out at: FrogsAreGreen

WaterLeaf was an eco-friendly store in Ramsey, New Jersey. (It has gone offline, store closed.)

The array of products found at Waterleaf is earth-friendly, handmade and or produced by vendors that are fair trade certified. They often work with vendors who give a portion of their proceeds to charities, as does waterleaf.

Save The Frogs
Working with Dr. Kerry Kriger of
Save The Frogs, I created various sized diorama graphics, square, tall and rectangular, which will be up in these airports: Detroit, Denver, O'Hare, Midway, and St. Louis. So, if you're traveling soon, look for them!
